We had three does give  kindle last Saturday, just before the severe cold snap.  Marion who was bred to Nutmeg had 12 babies, 4 stillborn,  She kept 6 and I fostered the 2 smallest to Tiabeanie.  Tiabeanie had 8, but lost  4 ,  and Black Strap had 9 with only one loss. I brought these 3 inside and they are living  in my bathroom in extra large tubs but they are not happy about it.  Black Strap really messed up my thumb while showing her absolute displeased for the new living arrangements , Tiabeanie has learned she can hop out  of her tub and does.  This makes me slightly nervous as we have 2 miniature schnauzers with high prey drives, and Bernie is an opportunist.  Marion is al very stressed and I want to get them back outside as soon as I can. Which leads me to today,  Ritz  had her litter  a day earlier then expected and decided not to build a nest, she is a first time mom so it's a tossup if they figure this out, but I am kicking myself for not crating her and brining her in last night. She had 11 total, all on the wire, 5 were over cleaned, 6 were either buried  or  pushed out an unknown hole in the cage bottom. We have new cages but the weather has been too  erratic to get them installed  something were going to try to do tonight.  Fred and Merrigold are due any time now .   I bred Ritz back to Hyatt, so  hopefully her second go will be successful.
